Homeward Bound Newsletter March 2024

Home ward bound title, March 2024 date surrounded by a green sparkle background for St. Patricks day

The month of March is commonly tied to the whimsical, "lucky" holiday known as St. Patrick's Day; however, MY favourite thing about March is that the first day of Spring comes with it!

As most Canadians will attest, this does not necessarily mean that the birds are chirping and the flowers are blooming; it may still be another little while until we see the snowless ground. That being said, the temperatures outside are warming up, and so is the Edmonton real estate market.

As expected, the Edmonton market slows down every winter as people get busy with the holidays and stay cozied up inside, especially when we see temperatures around the -25 degree Celsius mark; few people want to look at homes.

Thankfully, things are heating up, and many people are looking to buy a home or sell their current one. My advice to you would be: Don't Trust Luck To Sell Your Home; trust The Dwight Streu Real Estate!

Selling a home in a busy market is hard and requires a vast marketing program and experienced realtors. We don't aim just to get the job done but to ensure that we sell your home FAST and for TOP DOLLAR.

We don't sit around and wait for a buyer for your home to come to us, we just aren't that lucky. Instead, we are proactive in finding buyers 365 days a year so that when you are ready to sell, we are ready to get your home SOLD!

How does your team help?

Each wish granted by Make-A-Wish costs, on average, $10,000 and so they heavily rely on donations and volunteers to make dreams come true. Every time you choose to work with The Dwight Streu Team or refer us, you are helping local kids wishes come true as we donate a portion of every sale to this organization.

Your Referrals Are Golden text across a black banner with a pot of gold at the end.

Make-A-Wish Canada grants more than 1,000 wishes annually, but they can’t do this vital work without the support of their donors and volunteers.

Wishes vary in expense by virtue of their variety and complexity. For example, a travel wish generally involves transportation, accommodations for immediate family members, meals, and expenses. In addition, any necessary medical expenses such as wheelchairs, respirators, and even medical attendants are covered. Make-A-Wish wants to make each wish child’s experience as magical and smooth as possible, and they do so by relying heavily on donations.

This is why our team chooses to donate a portion of our sales so that we can help them continue this invaluable work! Last year, they granted 156 wishes! Let’s see if we can help them grant EVEN MORE in 2024!

You can help, too, by referring your friends and family to our team! Check out below how you can do so!

Ty was born with a heart condition, neuromuscular syndrome and scoliosis. Despite numerous hospital trips and surgeries, including a 12-hour surgery in 2022, Ty remains resilient.

Through it all, his natural passion for cooking and exploring new dishes brings him joy and strength. Inspired by his dad Bernie and chef Gordon Ramsey, Ty’s most heartfelt wish was to produce and publish his own cookbook. The focus and conversation around Ty’s cookbook quickly became a bright spot in Ty and his family’s lives. “We lived through quite a bit during Covid-19 with Ty’s health,” said Ty’s father, Bernie Chauvin. “It was a good pick me up to focus on things other than just his health. It sort of changed our mindset. It was a feel-good story.”

In 2023, Ty’s wish for his own published cookbook came true. ‘My Wish on a Plate! Just Ty It!’ combines his favourite recipes with those from family and friends. Creating his cookbook served as motivation to face the daily. challenges of living with a critical illness. Ty reflects on his wish journey. “It really took my mind off everything. The stress of surgery for scoliosis. So that really took my mind off it and made me forget about it and made me happier.” It was a life-changing experience for Ty when he held his cookbook for the first time. Through the sale of his cookbook, the teen hopes to share the joy of cooking and give back to charities near and dear to him, including Make-A-Wish!

When you refer someone to our team, you are helping to make dreams, like Ty’s come true! We donate a portion of each of our sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation because we know that wishes change lives!
